Chinks: All armor up front, party in the back.
There’s nothing like a good suit of armor to protect yourself from kicks, rope burns, and sticker bushes. Tempting though it may be, armor can be just a tad bulky, not to mention an unfortunate conversation starter. Enter the chink: nifty leather leggins that are worn shorter than chaps, falling somewhere between the knee and the ankle. Chinks and armitas provide great ‘armor’ for your upper legs. They are superb for riders who get up and off their horse often, for people who ride in hot weather, and for cowboys who work in deep mud. Chinks work for just about anyone who feels too constricted in long chaps. Whether you ride on the trail, in the arena, or around the roping pen, a good pair of well fitted chinks or armitas can give you just the right amount of leg protection you need up front, and just the right unrestricted movement (for working AND partying) in the back.
